I remember the Christmas when a friend had to have “the Santa talk” when her son found out the truth. After she finished, he was quiet for a moment and then said “Then Jesus isn’t real either?”
That conversation crushed her that she had lied to her son and convinced me to never play the Santa game with our children. It has been difficult going against our cultural but worth the effort to ensure our children knew the Christmas truth.
Isn’t it interesting that secularists condemn Christians for teaching children to believe something they cannot see or prove, and yet they have no problem lying to children about Santa Claus.
